Quilt Show Committee Report
Samples from the Quilt Show Guest Book:
Wonderful Show!—Damascus;
Overwhelming—Grand Valley;
Can’t wait ‘til the next show—Midland;
Humbling, Thanks!—Belleville;
WOW!—Creemore;
Well organized—Toronto;
Beautiful Quilts— Caledon.
Guests attended our show from Huntsville, New Liskeard, Dundas and Newfoundland to name just a few. The comments about our show were very favorable so let’s all give ourselves a ‘pat on the back’. Thank you everyone for your support by either entering a quilt in the show or by volunteering in some capacity in the planning stages or during the show. A lot of hard work goes into producing a quilt show the size of ours and you, the members, did not shirk back from getting involved.
The Raffle Quilt draw will take place during the Guild meeting Nov. 19 so be sure to have ALL ticket stubs returned. We have sold all of the 1,250 raffle tickets. Good luck to everyone who purchased a ticket for themselves!
The Member’s Boutique was a popular venue during the show. Thank you to everyone who donated items to sell, and who contributed items on consignment as well. You will be able to pick up your unsold consignment item(s) and your money from Caren Disgasparro at the November meeting. There will also be the few remaining unsold donated items available to purchase by the members at the meeting.
It’s not too late to order a Special Edition Member’s Photo CD. They are $7, which you can prepay at the Nov. meeting. If you have already ordered and prepaid for one, it will be ready for you to pick up. This is a wonderful way to have a ‘photo’ souvenir of the show.
If you were at the show late Sunday afternoon you would have found ribbons on: Viewers Choice Awards:
Bed Quilt—Oriental Fan Dazzle by Pat Kalapaca, CQA/ACC Rosette
Clothing—Bustier by Rhonda Gerrits, OQC Rosette for most overall votes
Lap Quilt—Sunbonnet Sue by Joan Tipping
Wall Hanging—Storybook Farms by Linda Ritchie
Quilt for a Child—Wee Teddies by Janet Slater
Quilt by a Child—A Gift for Paula (blocks made by children) by Barb Johnson
Miniature—Peace, Faith, Harmony by Tracey Hand Breckinridge
Home Décor—Runner by Tracey Hand Breckinridge

All of The Magic of Cloth Northcott Challenge entries were worthy of a ribbon. Thanks to all who participated in this challenge. Ribbons went to:
First Place—Sogno (Dream) by Mary Light
Second Place—Not so Traditional Albums by Joan Tipping
Third Place—Wild Rose Sampler by Anne Parsons
Special Choice—My Favorite Place by Jeanette Pilson
So, what are your plans for the fall of 2010?
