Workshops

Quilting by Association in February was led by Yvonne Guse-Rahn teaching Hunter's Star. A survey of the group indicated that the teacher was the most patient, calm, considerate, helpful, encouraging possible. Yvonne, you might want to get these people to give your boss at work some input at your annual review! Whew! Hard act to follow and the Hunter's Star Blocks were amazing as we'll see at the meeting.

March 8th Quilting by Association will be led by Leah Mitchell. If you want to learn curved sewing this is your chance. The finished block can be made into a cushion or form the start of a quilt. We do have some amazing teachers in this Guild.

On February 16, we will begin working on our Community Quilt using the
beautiful pattern that Rosemary Mahkan donated for this purpose. We have 12 volunteers to help cut out the 20 houses in the quilt top. Volunteers will need to bring their rotary cutter & board, sewing machines and sewing materials (scissors, thread, etc). We'll meet at 9 am and be up and functional with coffee and goodies by 9:30. Janet will have instructions and templates ready to go.

Rosemary Mahkan is coming March 29th to teach Invisible Machine Appliqué! Look for the pattern at the Workshop table and sign up ! We have 5 spots left. The block is lovely and Rosemary is a wonderful teacher. "Love appliqué, but don't have the time or patience for hand sewing? Perfect your machine stitching skills to do invisible appliqué stitching (no one will know its not by hand, unless you tell them). A specially designed Hearts Delight block pattern "will be made and can serve as the start for many more blocks to make a complete quilt.
